KISS Closed Circuit Rebreather Training
Rebreather technology is in a constant state of evolvement and with new and innovative products appearing constantly. The KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid!) Rebreather from Jetsam technologies is no exception. A mechanically driven constant PO2 Closed Circuit Rebreather, this unit is unique in its approach to Oxygen delivery. The KISS uses a static interstage pressure constant flow delivery system, similar to that utilised in Semi Closed Rebreathers to deliver a pre-set flow of oxygen into the loop keyed to the divers O2 metabolism rate. This flow rate roughly equates to the O2 being used by the divers body, any extra required is simply added by a press of the manual add button. Equipped with both an Automatic Diluent Addition Valve and OC/CC bailout mouthpiece the unit is easy to operate and a pleasure to dive. Simple to configure and adaptable to the divers changing needs the unit can be used as a simple Nitrox rebreather or with suitable training for advanced Tri-Mix diving. The unit has no computers or alarms and relies on the diver to make there own decisions about the information being provided by the 3 simple redundant PO2 displays. Due to current restrictions regarding CE marking we are not permitted to sell the unit within the UK, users are therefore expected to make there own personal arrangements for purchase/collection of the unit. The unit is supplied in kit form for self assembly and requires the addition of a harness/back plate and suitable buoyancy bladder. The unit will take any BCD that would bolt to a standard twin set using 11" bolt centres. You will also need to provide suitable oxygen clean cylinders for the oxygen and diluent supplies. Deep Down Diving is able to provide suitably priced CE marked accessory equipment including our special 3l "dumpy" cylinders which match the unit perfectly. Deep Down Diving are pleased to be able to provide a high quality KISS training course, this course covers all aspects of building and diving the unit using a normal O2 content diluent of air or helium mixes. We are also able to teach the experienced user advanced decompression diving techniques. In order to comply with current HSE Diving at Work Regulations and AcOPs the Instructor is not permitted to wear a KISS rebreather during training in the UK and so will use the CE marked Inspiration rebreather. In line with our phillosophy all other aspects of the regulations will also be met in full.
